PLYMOUTH COMMANDO REGROUP COMNITEE MEETING

Committee meeting held 19 July 2022

Firstly I would like to apologise for the confusion on the meeting dated (01 July).

Welfare: Ram Jam Singh: quick update from his daughter Parveen, Ram Jam was on a visit to Route 66 with “Ride for Veterans”, on a pre-planned overnight stop, he left the hotel on a quick walk before the evening meal he collapsed and died from a heart attack, he didn’t suffer it was instant, his daughter has asked if any of the Commando Brotherhood could attend the funeral, with the coffin drape and standard also if possible a bugler to play The Last Post. Date is TBC

I have put Parveen in contact with Plymouth coroner’s office, direct number with a family member and ex-serviceman who works within the office; he’s now assisting the family direct.

Message from Events Rep:

Looking into a trip to the ARBORETUM, enquiring about costs and maybe overnight stay more details to follow:

Plymouth Commando Gunner Regroup committee is required to look after our interest here in Plymouth, therefore:

John Blanchard Chairman, Dougie Tiller Treasurer, Bill Pinter Secretary,

Al (Sniper) Thompson Events, Neil Randall Entertainment, Mark Walker “IT” support.

The committee intend to take up the new posts on the 01 August 2022

With all names and positions put forward with no objections to the proposal the names above will be elected on the above date.

Armed Forces Day BBQ

A big thank you to Eric and Neil for the Armed Forces entertainment and the splendid BBQ,

The BBQ had a overspend which was paid from monies collected on the day, also the group and children's entertainment was paid from monies made on the day. The committee was informed by the entertainment rep that monies collected at the BBQ from the raffle and jackpot joker is being held in the West Hoe safe until treasurer returns to Plymouth.

-------------------------------------------------------------

I have spoken to the Central Treasurer and Secretary on a few occasions offering our support, informing the treasurer of the type of bank account required and sending the secretary documentation he may require to take up the post.

Plymouth CGR will no longer be running external functions, no requirement for any further action is needed due to Plymouth CGR never becoming part of the Central Regroup.

Information: The committee will be re-addressing the constitution once in situ.

Bill Pinter

CGR Secretary.

PLYMOUTH COMMANDO REGROUP MEMBERS

Dear members
Plymouth Commando Regroup Committee
With reference to the above, at the last meeting of Plymouth Regroup, June 2022, the committee stood down, two members came forward for election, motion carried.
A. A. Thompson Events Representative
B. N. Randall Entertainments Representative
No other positions were filled, on that conclusion John Blanchard opted to become the new Chairman Plymouth Regroup Committee as of 01 July 2022, Douglas Tiller to remain Treasurer and Bill Pinter continues as The Secretary. With all names and positions put forward with no objections to this proposal the names above will be elected as of 01 July 2022.
There also a vote to be considered outlined by Jerry Josee (Chairman at the last meeting) which was deferred for two months by the members of the Plymouth Regroup. (Please see below)
Neil worked continuously to form the Central Regroup Committee with volunteers selected, we in Plymouth and other satellite Regroups will continue to support The Commandos Regroup.
Bill Pinter
Secretary
Plymouth Regroup
Formation of Groups
Jerry Josee (Chairman) and Neil Randall spoke to the members about the reorganisation of the regroups.
A vote will be required on the following topics:
A* To separate the current Central and Plymouth Committee so that the Central committee becomes a separate formation with an umbrella control over regional regroups, with Plymouth reverting from combine role of Plymouth and Central to Plymouth regional only, and acting automatously
B* Keep the Plymouth committee and Central committee together as the main organisers, as is current situation at present. (No change to the way that business is conducted Plymouth Chairman acting for both Plymouth and Central issues), this option is no longer available with Central Committee formed.
These topics, will affect the way the committee conducts its functions and will affect all members therefore your vote as members is essential, and will not be put in to action until voted on by members attending ( Minimum of 13 votes are needed to carry forward ) deferred for 2 months
